Meet Emily
Emily grew up singing not only in Ballard County Schools choirs, but also on the road with her family's southern gospel group, The Moreheads. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Music with a minor in Theater from Murray State University, where she studied under Dr. Tana Field. There she participated in mainstage shows and the opera ensembles such as The Pirates of Penzance by Gilbert and Sullivan, Company by Stephen Sondheim, The Medium by Gian Carlo Menotti, etc. She was also avidly involved in the Sigma Alpha Iota tradition of Campus Lights in which she participated in shows such as All Shook Up, Mamma Mia!, and Legally Blonde.
On her year break after her Bachelor’s, she was involved with Paducah's award winning theater, Market House Theater. There she has been in shows such as School of Rock, and Girls Weekend. At the same time, she made her start as a teacher at Allen's Music Shop, teaching not only musical theater and classical, but commercial styles as well. She later went on to receive her Masters of Fine Arts in Vocal Performance from Southern Illinois University, having studied under Dr. David Dillard. In her two years there, she was involved in the opera performances Amahl and the Night Visitors, and The Little Prince. She is now a member of Paducah Singers, a chamber choral ensemble based in Paducah. Alongside this she is an Adjunct Instructor of Musical Theater Voice at Southeast Missouri State University and Voice Teacher at Paducah Symphony Orchestra Academy. Her project passion is her own personal voice teaching business- Elevate Voice Studio, where the most important thing is YOU.
Wadley has a huge passion for teaching styles with her diverse musical background in southern gospel, classical, musical theater, and commercial styles. With this, she is an avid believer in cross-training, healthy technique, and bringing your own “uniqueness” into your training. Everyone is different, and that’s what makes singing so special. Emily provides thoughtful, personalized vocal instruction designed to help every singer discover their authentic voice, build lifelong vocal health, and sing with complete confidence. With years of performance experience and comprehensive vocal pedagogy training, she strives to empower singers to unlock their natural instrument.

When I teach voice lessons, my primary mission is to educate students on sustainable, healthy, and versatile vocal technique. I strive to "teach myself out of a job" by giving each singer an understanding of vocal anatomy in both an aural and physical sense. My goal is to equip you with the self-awareness to coach yourself throughout your life and take ownership of your voice.
Finding your vocal home base
Every voice is distinct, which is why there is no single rigid way to train. Together, we explore what healthy singing genuinely feels like in your body through guided practice. We build your foundational "home base" by focusing on freedom in posture, breath support, relaxation of the tongue, proper palate height, and maintaining an open throat. With this solid foundation, singing feels effortless and deeply expressive.
